2015 marks both the final year to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and the inauguration of the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations, as well as the end of the China 12th Five-Year-Plan (2011–2015) and the beginning of the 13th Five-Year-Plan (2016–2020). Both the U.S. and China have been working on healthcare reforms with progresses and challenges. From 2011–2015, the U.S.-China Health Summit has been an important part of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) as well as the 6th U.S.-China Consultation on People-To-People Exchange (CPE). This year’s summit continues to bring health care leaders from industry, academia, and the public sector together and to provide an open platform for high-level strategic dialogues on “Innovation in Healthcare Reform and Technology”.
